The Fairbanks Adult Amateur Baseball League (FAABL) is built on a franchise model. Each year, teams compete in a full summer season under MLB rules using wood bats, 7-inning games, and a spirit of camaraderie and competition.
FAABL fields three core franchises: the Ice Men, Pirates, and Spruce. Each represents a unique identity, style of play, and history in Fairbanks adult baseball. All teams compete under MLB rules using wood bats, creating a competitive yet community-driven atmosphere that thrives under the Midnight Sun.

A young, high-energy team built from high school and Legion players, the Blizzard focus on developing talent for the next level—many aiming for college scholarships. Don’t let their youth fool you: they’re proven winners, capturing the 2023 City Series and the 2024 Alaska State Tournament. Fast, sharp, and hungry.

Born out of FAABL’s latest wave of expansion, Cienfuegos (nicknamed the Fuegos) bring fresh energy and serious ambition to the league. With about half their roster drawn from Fort Wainwright and the rest a mix of seasoned locals, they aim to ignite a legacy of tough, competitive baseball—blending grit, passion, and a spark of unpredictability.

Also known as the Eielson AFB team, the Icemen are a rowdy, battle-tested squad loaded with talent. They’ve been a force in the league for years and backed it up by winning the 2024 City Series. Expect a gritty, physical game every time they take the field.

The Misfits are a scrappy collection of players pieced together late in the draft after the main rosters filled up. While they came together last minute, don’t underestimate them—there’s real talent on this squad, and their underdog vibe makes them a wild card every game. A gritty, no-frills addition that rounds out the league perfectly.

One of FAABL’s cornerstone teams, the Pirates have been grinding it out for over a decade. With a solid blend of Army and local talent, they’re reliably competitive and never far from the top of the standings. Classic, scrappy, and always in the fight.

A tough, disciplined group with deep roots in the league. Spruce posted the best regular-season record and finished runner-up in the City Series. A strong mix of Army players and locals, this team plays hard, plays smart, and is always a contender.

HOW TEAMS ARE FORMED
Each spring, players try out and enter the FAABL draft. Managers build their rosters based on skill, chemistry, and character. Once drafted, you’re part of a franchise—and that means something around here.
